Jumping Seat Class of 2028

ABOUT CAMBRIE
My name is Cambrie, and I’m a student at Dripping Springs High School in Texas with a 4.3 weighted GPA. I’m part of the Class of 2028 and have been riding for nine years, with eight years of experience competing on the A circuit. Horses have been a huge part of my life, and I’m excited about the opportunity to continue riding at the collegiate level while pursuing my education. I’ve always loved that equestrian sport is so individual, but riding as part of a college team would combine my passion for horses with the camaraderie and shared goals of a team environment.
I currently train with Kelly Lorek at Southern Way Farm as well as Don Stewart and Hunter Holloway. I show two horses: MTM Bespoke and Colourfly. MTM Bespoke is my 3’3” large junior hunter. He’s only eight years old, and I’ve had him for two years, bringing him along from very green to competitive in the juniors. Colourfly is my equitation horse for the 3’3”-3’6” medals — he’s experienced, talented, and truly a once-in-a-lifetime horse. Both are special to me, and I’m grateful for what they’ve taught me.
Over the past few years, I’ve qualified for Junior Hunter Finals three times, finishing in the top 24 back to back years. In the equitation, I have qualified and competed in the WEC Equitation Cup, finished Year End Champion in the 15-17 Age Group Equitation, and am currently sitting in the top 10 for the WIHS Equitation West Coast Standings consistently scoring in the high 80's in both the hunter and jumper phases. I am qualified for and plan to compete at Maclay Finals, Dover Medal Finals, and the Gladstone Cup. I compete in all three rings — hunters, jumpers, and equitation — and pride myself on being adaptable to many different styles and types of horses.
Beyond the show ring, I’m a hardworking, supportive, and team-oriented person. At the barn, I ride extra horses, clean tack, help my trainers, and pitch in wherever needed. I also mentor younger riders and do everything I can to be a positive, encouraging presence for my teammates. Outside the barn, I’m active in the National Charity League, where I volunteer at local organizations and help organize community events.
When it comes to competition, I handle pressure by staying focused on my round and my horse, blocking out distractions to perform at my best. I’m tough, resilient, and always put in 100% effort, whether it’s in training, showing, or supporting others.
Looking ahead, I hope to continue improving as a rider, experience the unique challenge of collegiate competition, and fulfill my lifelong dream of winning a national championship while earning a degree. Riding in college is the perfect way for me to grow as both an athlete and a person, and I can’t wait for the opportunity.
